About BetterWorld.ai

BetterWorld.ai is the intelligence layer for AI that creates social impact — a platform for founders, researchers, and builders who believe AI can be a force for good.

Intelligence Protocol 01

The mission

AI is one of the most powerful technologies in human history. The question is not whether it will change the world — it's whether those changes will be equitably distributed, thoughtfully directed, and genuinely beneficial.

BetterWorld.ai exists to accelerate the best of what AI can do: help us solve the hardest problems facing humanity.

Intelligence Protocol 02

What we build

A curated ecosystem map of companies and organizations using AI for social impact, organized by cause area, geography, and application type. A live intelligence feed tracking research papers, news, and signals from the field.

Intelligence Protocol 03

Built for humans and agents

BetterWorld.ai is designed to be useful not just for human visitors, but for AI agents and systems that crawl, index, and reason about the web. Every entity — every company, idea, category, and trend — exists as structured data and clean API endpoints.

As AI agents become more capable, they should be able to find and reason about the world's best examples of AI for good.

Pieter Doevendans

I believe AI is a force multiplier — and that the most important question right now is not what AI can do, but where we choose to point it. My goal with BetterWorld.ai is to create more awareness, more conversation, and ultimately more resource allocation towards the individuals and projects using AI to drive real social impact.

I previously built Ava, a platform using AI to empower deaf and hard of hearing people. I've also experimented with AI in mental healthcare — including AI-based coaching and therapy, therapy matching, and trauma treatment — and most recently worked at a company helping hard of hearing people more quickly and easily navigate the hearing health system.

My current focus is preventative healthcare. I'm building a side project to enable more personalized and scalable remote patient monitoring for high-risk patient groups managing chronic conditions.

If you're working on something at the intersection of AI and social impact — or if you have thoughts, feedback, or questions about this platform — I'd love to hear from you. I'm always open to inspiring conversations with like-minded people.
